This is such a rich program, offering everything from the link to the state child care licensing regulations to scripts for talking with parents about the dreaded head lice!
The Kentucky Alliance for Shared Services platform is truly the gift that keeps on giving since it is constantly updated with information requested from the early childhood field. And it’s all right there at your fingertips.

In preparation for our renewal visit with NAEYC, we used many of the resources on the Shared Services website. The time I saved was time I was able to use observing in the classrooms.
Many of the posters were printed and posted throughout our building, such as hand washing, diapering, etc. I didn’t have to think about whether or not it met all the detailed expectations of NAEYC because I know this is already verified before it is placed on the website.
As a busy director, having these resources at my fingertips has proven invaluable.

The website is such a great resource and has saved my center both time and money! We always take advantage of the Discount School Supply cost savings and each time we order, we are surprised at how much we save!
Recently, we developed a new parent handbook and a new employee handbook using the online template. The template is easy to use and the format is wonderful. We were able to personalize the handbooks to meet our center’s needs without having to completely rewrite the document. And, we love the hand washing posters. We post them in the classroom and we also send them home with our parents!

…the many resources available on the website are a helpful tool for me as a director – from articles on “hot topics” that I can share with parents, to sample handbooks and other management tools, I have turned to these resources more and more over the past year.
I believe that I’m a better “tour guide” when prospective parents come to my school. I’ve learned what parents are seeking and how to anticipate their needs and ways my school can fill those.
I believe I’m a better director and am doing a better job of “managing” and “selling” my school which in turn helps me retain more families.
